Anyone on either side of a domestic employment arrangement should be aware of these minimum wage rates which are reviewed each January.
The collective agreement is governed by the HausgehilfInnen und Hausangestelltengesetz (Domestic Helpers and Domestic Workers Act).

Be careful, if you have no Dienstleistungsscheck you have to register your helping hand at the ÖGK social insurance. Missing the registration before your employee starts can cost approximately 1.000,00 Euro. If you pay under the minimum wage it can cost even more because there is a law which could be enforced with a penalty and you have to pay the missing difference to social insurance. If you've got a regular helping hand I'd recommend a tax counsellor who has got a payroll accountant or self-employed payroll accountant.
