Mtop: Assisting qualified refugees and third party nationals to connect with employers

Mtop is an organisation which helps qualified refugees and third country nationals to connect with employers. Originally in Vienna (but see Salzburg below), it pairs people ("associates") with a mentor who accompanies them through their search.

Is it only for those living in Vienna?

No. According to the Mtop recruiting team:

It is open to people throughout Austria. Majority of our Workshops are online, and the coaching sessions are also provided based on individual's request either online or offline.

How does it work?

We recruit yearly in three rounds up to around 75 Associates in total.

And can you tell us anything about the prospects for associates? What is the success rate?

Around 60% of Associates found a job/ secured an internship/or step into their career goals.

MTOP Salzburg

In 2023 MTOP Vienna were asked by a private foundation to open a branch in Salzburg. The Salzburg strategy is a little different to that in Vienna: In Vienna MTOP only works aith migrants from outside the EU whereas in Salzburg they work with all migrants, whever they are from. And in Salzburg MTOP tries to enhance a person's personal job market prospects by helping them to get upskilled or find a good job. In fact MTOP Salzburg will help migrants with any aspect of the labour market, whether that might be finding childcare so that they can work or representing them with dealings with the authorities.
