SOMA Salzburg: The social supermarket

I have just come across SOMA at Plainstrasse 2 near the Kiesel shopping centre. It is a social supermarket supporting people on a low income which runs completely on donated food/products and volunteer staff.

If you know anyone on a low income (below €1300 for one person, €1700 for two in a households, +€200 for each additional member) then please make sure they know about it. They apply for a shopping card and can then shop 3x/week for €12 each time, if I have understood it correctly.

It might also be somewhere for you to volunteer if you're looking for opportunities. I know that they always need drivers (with their own car) to pick up donated goods, and volunteers to work in the shop.

Visit their website to find out more: https://soma-salzburg.at
